Nails Inc Mayfair Lane | My Spring Nail Polish

 Hello everyone,
As Spring has finally sprung I wanted to share with you my current favourite nail polish: Nails Inc Mayfair Lane, a beautiful pastel pink shade, perfect for this time of year.

I have been loving pastels recently and Nails Inc Mayfair Lane is no exception. It is such a pretty colour that I think looks very clean and polished yet still very girly.
This nail polish is also part of their Gel Effect nail polish collection which makes it super easy to apply. The brush is quite wide making it super easy and quick to do your nails, and I find the polish dries super quick and has a very shiny, gel-like finish.
The only disappointing part of this nail polish is that I find it chips quite easily, however, I am sure this could easily be solved by a good base and top coat.
On the whole though I absolutely love this nail polish and think it is perfect for Spring and Summer, and I would also look at purchasing more colours from this range...Porchester Square I am looking at you.

Let me know if you have tried any of the Nails Inc Gel Effects nail polish and what you think of them!

Tanya Burr's Lip Glosses | Afternoon tea and Picnic In the Park

Here I am wearing TB Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea above, and TB Lip Gloss in Picnic in the Park below.

 Hello everyone,
I am really excited to share with you today a couple of the Tanya Burr Lip Glosses in Afternoon Tea and Picnic in the Park.
As I am sure many of you know Tanya Burr released her own lipgloss and nail polish range which is super exciting, and as soon as I found out I knew I was going to have to try some of her products.
I decided to pick up two of her lipglosses, Afternoon Tea and Picnic in the Park, both of which I had seen her use in tutorials where I thought they both looked so pretty.

Afternoon Tea is a gorgeous pinky nude, and for me it is my perfect everyday, easy to wear, super pretty lip colour. It goes with anything and for Spring I am loving pastel pink, and so Afternoon Tea is perfect for that.
Picnic In the Park is the slightly brighter colour of the two. It is a bright mid toned pink that is still easy to wear yet it really adds a pop of colour to any makeup look and outfit. It is gorgeous for Spring and Summer as it is so bright and girly.
The formula of both of the lip glosses is really nice as they're very moisturising and long wearing. Both of the lipglosses are also so pigmented and opaque which I am so impressed with as usually lip gloss shades don't really show up on my lips as my lips are quite pigmented.
They're also really easy to apply as the applicators have an almost flat edge which I love.
They smell really good, almost like vanilla, and I love the packaging as it is very sleek but I also love how they have Tanya's signature across them.
Can I also mention how cute the names are? They definitely add a vey personal touch to the line which I absolutely love.

Overall I am super impressed with Tanya Burr's lip glosses. Afternoon Tea is my perfect easy to wear pastel pink colour and Picnic in the Park adds a super pretty pop of pink to any look. The formulas are excellent and for £6.99 from Feel Unique, I don't think you can go wrong.
I am definitely going to be trying out more products from Tanya's Lip and Nail range as I am so impressed with the two lip glosses I currently own.

Let me know if you have tried out any of Tanya Burr's Lip and Nail range and what you think of them!

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara | My New Favourite Mascara

 Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to talk about my new favourite mascara, the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara in 'Black'.
I have always heard so many awesome reviews about this mascara, and as I was on the hunt for a new one I thought I would give it a go.
The wand is very big which at first is slightly daunting but it does help to quickly coat all of your lashes. It has very short plastic bristles that really grab onto every lash to lengthen and volumise them.
So far I am loving this mascara as it leaves your lashes very volumised and lengthened. I love how you can build it up depending on what look you want, and the wand really helps you to reach every lash.
Although it does leave your lashes very volumised and lengthened, it still look quite natural as it is not clumpy at all. It leaves them separated and flared out, and so you never get that 'spidery' effect.
It also lasts really well throughout the day and is easy to remove at night.

Overall I cannot say enough good things about this mascara. Although the picture really doesn't do it justice, I find it is the perfect balance between volumised and lengthened lashes, and natural and separated lashes..I love it!

Let me know if you have tried the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara and what you think of it!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge!

 Hello everyone,
During the years I have been obsessed with all things beauty, I have always heard people rave about the Beauty Blender - a sponge that makes the application of makeup super easy.
Although I had always been quite dubious, I finally caved and decided to pick up the Real Techniques version - The Miracle Complexion Sponge.
As I am sure you all know I am a huge fan of all of the Real Techniques brushes I own. The quality is amazing and at such an affordable price, I knew the Miracle Complexion Sponge would be just as good. However, since using this sponge for about a week, I didn't realise just how good it would be.

The Miracle Complexion Sponge is quite uniquely shaped, with a pointy end that is amazing at applying your foundation and concealer in particular, a flat side that is great for covering large areas and the rounded sides that can also be used for even more blending.
I love running this under water so it doubles in size, then squeezing out any excess water and towel-drying it so it is slightly damp. This makes applying makeup so effortless and easy, and the results are amazing.
For foundation this gives very flawless results. I find it makes my foundation look very natural as it is patting it into the skin, whilst also creating an almost flawless and smooth canvas. It also makes applying foundation quick work as it covers such a large area.
For concealer, the pointy side of this sponge is awesome as it can really get into those 'hard-to-reach' areas. Again it leaves your concealer looking very natural yet flawless.
I have also tried it with powder, and it still gives amazing results. I can also imagine it being very good at applying any cream products like cream blushers.
When it comes to washing this sponge it is not the easiest, but every makeup sponge is difficult to clean because of the material it's made out of. However, I still like to swirl it in some Johnson's Baby Shampoo which I find helps to clean out some of the makeup.

Overall I am super impressed with this Miracle Complexion Sponge. It is so versatile and leaves natural yet flawless results. It has become an absolute must in my makeup routine, and I don't know how I have been living so long without it!

Let me know if you have tried the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and what you think of it!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy!

Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to share with you the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. I have always been interested in trying out this brand, and so after I recent splurge on Feel Unique I decided to give this lip balm a go as I tend to suffer from dry lips.
After using this for over a week I am super happy with the results. I love using this lip balm in the morning before I do my makeup as it feels very light so is great underneath lipsticks and lipgloss but it is also very hydrating so it helps keep my lips nourished throughout the day.
It leaves a really nice finish to the lips and as it is not overly glossy I love applying this throughout the day to keep my lips even more nourished.
I also love the First Aid Beauty packaging and I love how it is in a squeezy tube as it is more hygienic if I am using it on the go.
The lip balm has a minty scent which I think smells very refreshing and light.
It keeps my lips feeling nourished for a good few hours, and I have definitely noticed my lipstick no longer clings to the dry patches that I used to have on my lips.

Overall I think the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy is an excellent lip balm as it feels light on the lips, has a lovely finish and is very nourishing and hydrating.
I would highly recommend it to any who suffers from dry lips and I will definitely continue to repurchase it as one of my new favourite day time lip balms.

I also recently got Twitter for my blog so if you would like to stay up to date with blog posts and beauty-related topics, you can follow me @xtouchofbeautyx

Recent Purchases #6 | A Feel Unique Haul

Hello everyone,
After doing some much needed retail therapy, I thought I would share with you what I bought as a result of my recent Feel Unique online order. I have recently become quite the addict when it comes to online shopping and haven't seemed to be able to stay away from online shops like Feel Unique as they have such a great range of products and the free delivery is always a bonus!
The products I was most excited about trying as soon as I placed my order were from the new Tanya Burr Lips and Nails makeup range. As I am sure you are all aware, Tanya Burr has released her new collection consisting of gorgeous nail polishes and lip glosses, and as a massive fan of hers I new I had to try out some products from her line. I decided on two lip glosses to try out first, Afternoon Tea (pictured at the top) and Picnic in the Park (pictured at the bottom). Although I will be doing a full review very soon with swatches, I will say that these lip glosses are excellent quality at a very good price, and I am very tempted to order a few more!

Next I decided to order a couple of lip balms as I needed a new one and really wanted to try out a few new ones. The first is the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy by First Aid Beauty, and although I haven't heard a lot about this product I thought it sounded really good and so wanted to see what it was like for myself. So far I am really loving this lipbalm but I will be doing a full review soon. The next lipbalm is the Nuxe Reve de Miel which I have heard so much about but have always put off buying. However, I finally bit the bullet and I am so glad I did as although it is very different in consistency and application, it is so good. I find it to be very nourishing and leaves my lips feeling very soft.

Lastly is another product from First Aid Beauty, and it is their Face Cleanser. I had heard Ingrid from MissGlamorazzi talk a lot about FAB's cleansers and so I thought I would give this a go as it is meant to be very cleansing but also very hydrating and good for sensitive skin. I have only been using this for a few days so I am yet to form a full opinion on this cleanser, but once I do I will be sure to do a full review.

So they are my picks from Feel Unique online order. Obviously as a beauty junkie I find it very exciting when I purchase new things to try out, and I also cannot wait to do full, in depth reviews on all of the products I have purchased!

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation!

 Hello everyone,
After about 2 years of lusting over the NARS Sheer Glow foundation I finally got my hands on it after a recent shopping trip.
I have heard rave reviews about this foundation, and as someone who is constantly on the hunt for a perfect foundation, I desperately wanted to give it a try.

I was matched to the shade 'Mont Blanc' which is the second to lightest shade. This is an okay colour match but compared to my neck it is quite a bit darker and so I have to make sure I blend away.
The NARS Sheer Glow provides a good medium coverage that is buildable. It easily covers redness and discolouration, except I do have to add a touch of concealer under my eyes and on any very angry blemishes. I like to apply it using a stippling brush, and my favourite is the Sigma Duo Fibre F50 brush as this gives the foundation a slightly lighter finish and I find it blends it really well.
I love the finish of this foundation as it is an almost satin finish. It is not super dewy but it's not completely matte either, it sits somewhere in between which I love. Because of the finish I think it would suit a range of skin types as I find it doesn't cling to any dry patches but then it doesn't make me super oily.
Longevity-wise I find this lasts about 7 hours on me before I get oily, which isn't bad considering it is not a completely matte foundation.
I also find that this foundation photographs quite well, as it almost blurs imperfections and makes you skin look quite flawless.
I personally really like the packaging as it looks quite sleek and sophisticated. It doesn't come with a pump so I do have to pour a bit out onto the back of my hand, however, a little bit goes a very long way so I like to only pour a bit out and then go back if I need more coverage - I've had many times now where I have poured out way too much!

On the whole I do think this is a nice foundation. I like the medium coverage and satin finish but I do feel like the shade is slightly too dark on me which results in me frantically blending in the hope it looks okay. However I do hope by the summer when I have got more of a tan it should be okay.

Let me know if you have tried the NARS Sheer Glow foundation and what you think of it!

February Favourites!

 Hello everyone,
The sun is shining today and it is a beautiful blue sky which is the perfect way to welcome in March. Although it is still quite cold, I love March as it is getting to the end of Winter, the days are getting longer and the weather is getting slightly better.
I actually missed out my January favourites this year as although there were products I loved, I only really began using them towards the end of January. Therefore my February favourites have products that I have loved throughout January as well as February.
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette
I have been loving this gorgeous eyeshadow palette offering by Smashbox. 7 highly pigmented, creamy matte shades and 7 gorgeous shimmer shades together help create an everyday eye look that is super easy to do and looks super pretty. The quality I think is really good and the shades are so pretty, and I also love the dual ended brush it comes with. I spoke more about it here but if you love neutral eyeshadows then this palette would be perfect for you.

NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette
Another eyeshadow palette I have been loving is the NARSissist palette, again a neutral-lovers dream. There are 15 stunning shades in this palette and the quality of them all is really great. I find these eyeshadows particularly last really well and are very pigmented. I find this palette amazing for creating more evening, smokey eye looks as many of the colours are quite dark. However, I do have some favourites that I love using for everyday, and if you would like to see swatches of the shadows, click here.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla'
Although I have already spoken about this concealer many times before, I just have to mention it again as it really is that good. I love this concealer as it provides excellent coverage yet feels and looks so natural and light. It blends really well and lasts throughout the whole day, but if you want to know more about this concealer, click here.

Mac Fanfare Lipstick
I cannot express my love for this lipstick enough. It is the perfect mid-toned pink that is bold enough to be more of a statement but is light enough to be worn everyday. I spoke more about it here but for me it is by far one of my favourite lipsticks ever as I find the formula to be really good and the colour is just beautiful.

So they are my February favourites!
I hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know what products you have been loving throughout February as I love discovering new products.
