Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Easter! I hope you all are having a fun day and are enjoying some delicious chocolate!

A couple of months ago I got a sample of the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation (hence why there is no photo of the packaging etc), as I had heard so many people rave about it. I was so happy I was able to get a sample because at £33 it is not something you want to buy and then find out it doesn't actually work for you.

The lady at the Laura Mercier counter was super friendly and helpful. She matched me up to the shade 'soft ivory', which is the lightest shade. It is a very good match as I think it has quite a neutral undertone. I do think they could have gone lighter with the shade range, as as it stands I'm not sure the shades would suit very fair skin tones.
Laura Mercier describe this foundation  as;
"A rich and luminous foundation offering full coverage while hydrating and protecting the skin. The long-wearing foundation evens out skin tones and increases skin luminosity and clarity for a radiant glow. Its rich, creamy texture glides over the skin effortlessly giving you ample playtime for perfect application and blendability. Perfect for rosacea and hard to cover pigmentation. Oil-free and ideal for all skin types."
From the before and after pictures you can see just how well this foundation covers. I would say it is a medium-full coverage like Laura Mercier claim, and that it evens out skin tone really well.
The tiniest amount of this foundation goes very far, and it is also really easy to blend.
I love the finish of this foundation, as it does give you a sort of radiance, but without feeling oily.
It also lasts really well on my combination/oily skin, and covers things like blemishes and redness amazingly. Although is has a very thick and creamy texture, it doesn't feel that heavy or cakey on the skin, which is another plus point.
Below you can see it with my finished makeup.
For me this foundation is excellent for special occasions/going out, as I find it can look a bit too much for everyday wear. That said, if you only wanted a light coverage for everyday, you could apply the tiniest amount and just blend it in to where you want a bit of coverage.

I do think this is really good foundation and would highly recommend it as I think it would suit so many different people. I am tempted into buying it, but at £33 I am going to wait and see if I find anything else.
In the meantime I am happily going to use what is left of my sample!

Have you tried the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation?

really hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful. Please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you think!

Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! I hope you're all looking forward to the Easter Weekend!
Today I wanted to share with you the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream.
I got this for my birthday a couple of months ago, and have been using it everyday since. It is the big 200ml size as it was on special offer at £25 at the time.

Clarins claim this product will "soften hands" and protect them against the "drying effects of the sun, cold weather and hard water". They also say the cream will help "condition and strengthen nails".
The cream itself has a thick consistency, but still absorbs really fast whilst leaving your hands soft and smooth. I find that it doesn't leave my hands sticky, or feeling like they have really heavy cream on. The cream does have a different scent to it, but I personally quite like it. It is really hard to describe though because it's not floral or sweet, but to me it sort of smells like something they use in a spa or for manicures!
As for the claim of conditioning and strengthening nails, I can't say I have really seen much difference to my nails. Throughout Winter the skin around my nails gets really dry and my actual nails are much weaker, but unfortunately even though I have used this cream, they have still been the same.
I also find after washing my hands and being outside in the cold the moisturising feeling doesn't really last which is a shame.

Overall though, I do like this cream. It has a nice texture and absorbs really fast, whilst still leaving your hands soft and smooth. It's a shame that for me it doesn't live up to its claim of 'conditioning and strengthening' the nails, and it is also annoying how the moisturising feeling doesn't last.
The 100ml bottles of this hand cream are £20, which I do think is expensive. But if you are wanting to splash out on a hand cream I would still recommend it.

Have you tried the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream?

I really hope you enjoyed this review. Please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you think!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all well!
As a person who suffers from bad dark circles, I am always on the hunt for new concealers and correctors to try. I currently use a combo of the Bobbi Brown Corrector and the Collections Lasting Perfection concealer, both of which I love. However, several months ago I purchased the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer, after seeing so many amazing reviews about it.

I bought it in the lightest shade, '51 Eclat Clair', but after using it a couple of times I thought it was way too dark for me and so put it to the back of my drawers. However, recently I gave it a second chance after seeing Estee from EssieButton rave about it.
So as I said I do suffer from really bad dark circles, and so I always use concealer to help brighten and lift my eyes. I still do think the shade I have, '51', is slightly darker then I would like it to be for a concealer, as it has a very strong yellow undertone which is quite dark.
But colour aside the actual concealer is really good. As you can see it has corrected quite a bit of the darkness, making my eyes look less tired. The camera has slightly washed out the colour, as in real life it is darker, and so because of that this concealer doesn't really brighten under my eyes. Therefore, to further brighten my eyes, I do use the Collections Lasting Perfection concealer over the top of the Bourjois concealer.
I also find this concealer to last really well. It dries to a semi-matte finish and on me doesn't crease, and so I don't really need to set it with a powder.
I'm not a fan of the packaging because I find having to squeeze out the product makes me squeeze out too much, which does get frustrating.

Overall I would say for £7.49 it's a good concealer that is worth trying, as long as you do not have fair skin like myself. It offers really good coverage, lasts well and doesn't crease, and so this would be 'the perfect' concealer if it was in a lighter shade. I am finding that throughout the day it does seem to oxidise slightly and so by the end of the day there are quite dark patches of colour peeking through.
I think for now I will go back to my Bobbi Brown corrector and Collections concealer combo, but I am still happy I gave the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer a second try.

Let me know if you've tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer and what you think of it!

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful, and please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you think!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! I have been super excited to share with you the new Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I had heard such good things about this product, and have always longed for an inexpensive foundation that still looks natural.
When I saw this in Boots I was very excited, and at £8.99 I thought I couldn't go wrong. The shade I got in the end was '120 Vanilla'. There is a shade lighter though called 'Ivory', but that has quite a pink undertone, compared to 'Vanilla' which has quite a yellow undertone. Now, I personally think I have quite a neutral undertone, so it took me a long time deliberating which colour to get. After using the foundation now for several weeks, I do think the lighter shade may have been better at the moment, but once blended 'Vanilla' does work and look fine!

So the packaging is quite a standard glass bottle with a screw top cap. Annoyingly it doesn't have a pump and so you do (or at least I do!) end up pouring too much out which does get pretty frustrating. That said though I can live without a pump, and after a while you do get used to it.
Like I said the shade 'Vanilla' does have quite a strong yellow undertone, and is ever so slightly too dark for my skin at the moment. The consistency is very runny and thin, making it a doddle to blend. I love using the Real Techniques Buffing brush for this.
Here is a before and after picture. With no makeup, my skin is very uneven and has some red areas (although the photo isn't picking them up!). I also have blemishes and scarring on my chin which you can see.
Once with a layer of the foundation on, and concealer under my eyes and blush on my cheeks, you can see just how natural it is, whilst doing a lovely job in evening and smoothing out my skin, and reducing the redness of my blemishes. It is so easy to blend, and leaves quite a satin finish. As I have oily skin, I do set it with powder, which also helps the longevity of the foundation, which on my skin is about 8 hours.

However, I did at first think this broke me out, and although after using it for several weeks I haven't severely broken out, I'm not really sure whether my skin 100% agrees with it, which is really annoying.

Overall though I do love this foundation. It does leave a natural finish to the skin, and can be left looking quite glowy, or set with a powder if you get oily throughout the day. It lasts well and I think the colour selection is also pretty good.

At £8.99 I do think it is worth getting, and I would really recommend it, despite the lack of pump and the possibility of it not 100% working with my skin.

Beauty Wishlist #2

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all having a great week! I wanted to share with you a few products I have been lusting over recently.
As spring has arrived (although it doesn't feel like it yet over here), I have been really obsessing over the bright coral colours, which is why I really love Benefit's Coralista blush, which is so popular and looks perfect for spring and summer, and the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral which also looks really gorgeous, and particularly because it is cream would look really healthy and glowy on the skin.
Since Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup did a tutorial using the NARS And God Created Woman Set I have just fallen in love. Unfortunately because it is extremely expensive and limited edition I don't think I will be able to get my hands on it just yet, but it is something I think is so stunning!
Also from NARS is their new Radiant Creamy concealer. I haven't heard a great deal about this product, but the few reviews I have seen are all really good, and so I think I will be keeping my eye on it over the summer and keeping up with any new reviews.

That is it for my current beauty wishlist. This is just a snippet of it, and there are many products from the highstreet/drugstore which I am also lusting over, but I thought I would still show you some products which I think just look amazing!

Let me know down below what products you have your eyes on!

I really hope you enjoyed this wishlist, please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think!

Recent Purchases #3

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a great weekend!
Yesterday I picked up some things whilst shopping which I am super excited to show you.
I feel at the moment so many places are coming out with really nice things, and so I did have to resist quite a lot of things otherwise I would be bankrupt.
So lets begin!

After seeing Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup show the Zara Office City Bag, I was on a hunt. I have fallen head over heels for it as I think it looks very classic and sophisticated, whilst also being super practical. It has 3 zip compartments, and 2 with poppers and so it can fit so many things in. I love how it has 2 padded compartments to keep your Ipad and laptop. I think this bag would be perfect for school or people always on the go!
Also from Zara, is this lightweight jacket. It is a really nice nude colour and looks quite flattering on. I think this will be a perfect 'transition' coat, as a lot of the time it isn't cold enough to wear a massive coat, but you still need something to put on. I can't wait to start wearing it!
I then went to Topshop and instantly fell in love with this mint jumper. It is really warm and fits really nicely. I thought it would be perfect for this UK weather when you want to dress more summery but it is still too cold outside!
Lastly I picked up some basic items from Boots. There is currently a '3 for 2' across all skincare and bodycare items so I got my usual No7 Foaming Cleaners, then a Garnier Pure Active moisturiser, and then I got my Nivea Lip Balm for free. I also picked up the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder as so many people have been raving about this product, so I cannot wait to use it!

So these are my recent purchases, I cannot wait to start using them!

I really hope you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment down below as I love to see what you think!

Updated Makeup Storage Featuring Muji!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a great week. Today I wanted to talk to you about my updated makeup storage featuring Muji. I did this post a while back but up until recently wasn't too happy with the set up. I felt like the storage I had it in was very bulky and not really in fitting with my room as a whole. I had seen plenty of people rave about the Muji acrylic drawers for their makeup storage, and so after realising there wasn't much else out there, I decided to invest and purchase some drawers.

When I went to the Muji store they only had the single drawers in, but I thought that could be quite good as you really can sort out your makeup into little groups. In the end I bought 3 normal single drawers, and 3 flip lid single drawers. I didn't realise until I got home I had purchased the flip lid ones, but after owning them I do think they're better than the regular as they're a touch higher and allow you to get out your makeup much more easily.
I have stacked 3 drawers on top of eachother, and then put the 2 groups of 3 drawers side by side.
I do want to say that I am in no way trying to brag, and everything I have I use on a regular basis.
On the top of one of the 3 stacks of drawers I have my Mac Fix+ which I love for setting my makeup, and all my makeup brushes which are kept in a mug my two best friends gave me for my birthday :)
In the first draw on the left I keep my concealers like my Bobbi Brown Corrector, my powder, my highlighter and the Kleenex blotting sheets. These are products which I use daily and so it is really handy having them all in the same draw.
Below that I have my foundations, my primer which is the Smashbox Photo Finish and a couple of foundation samples. These are the foundations I swap between in the week. Usually I will go with either my Bobbi Brown BB Cream or the Revlon Nearly Naked, or if I want more coverage one day I will go with my Max Factor Face Finity foundation.
I then have a couple of miscellaneous products which I don't use quite so much.
The next drawer on the top left is one of the flip lid ones and as you can see it makes getting out your makeup so much easier. I keep my blushes in here, like my Benefit Fine One One, my NARS blush and my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. I also have my Clinique blush and Chanel bronzer.
I then keep all my eye products, and although I'm not really one to wear eyeshadow on a daily basis, I do have a palette from Collections. I also have my mascaras, the Benefit Bad Gal and the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess. I keep my eyeliners and lash comb in here as well.
In the last draw are my lip products. I have all my Mac lipsticks in here, my Chanel, Clarins and a couple of glosses and stains.

So that is pretty much it for my updated makeup storage. I have linked off all the products mentioned with their reviews if you want to know more about them.

Leave a link down below showing me your makeup storages as I love to see new ideas!

I really hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think!

Favourite 'Nude' Makeup!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all are having a fun weekend! Today I wanted to share with you my favourite 'nude' products. Products that are quite natural and good for everyday. All of the products I have been really enjoying wearing as I think natural make up looks so beautiful on everybody.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
The Revlon Nearly Naked foundation is quite a new product for me, but I really love how it feels light on the skin and gives the skin a dewy finish. You can apply it to give a light coverage, but then build it up in areas if you want more coverage. I really love this foundation and find it doesn't mask the face or look cakey.

Mac Lipstick in "A Perfect Day"
The Mac lipstick in "A Perfect Day" gives such a gorgeous nude colour to the lips, particularly for fair skin. Again this is really natural, and gives my lips a nude/pink colour, which I love! I have already done a review on this lipstick (HERE) if you want to know about this product!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Liner in "Nude"
The Rimmel eye liner in "nude" is a really nice liner for brightening the eye area whilst still looking natural. I use this everyday now to reduce the look of redness in my eyes. Again I have already done a review on this product (HERE) if you want to know more about it.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in "Exposed"
This is one of my all time favourite blushes - I LOVE it! The matte finish and browny/pinky colour gives such a natural look. On my fair skin, it acts as a really natural contour as well as a blush. I really want Tarte to come to the UK because of these blushes, they are amazing, but if you want to more detail I have also done a review (HERE).

Catrice Cosmetics Ultimate Nude Nail Polish in "Moulin Rouge Light"
This colour gives a really nice wash of colour to the nails, and looks so natural which is great for school or work, or if you want to give your nails a break from bright or dark colours. The formula is amazing as it is so easy to apply and dries so quickly!

So that is it for my favourite 'nude' products. All of these I love for days when I want to be a bit more natural.
Let me know if you have any favourite 'nude' or natural products!

I really hope you enjoyed this slightly different post from me, let me know what you think down below!
Thank you so much for reading, and have a great rest of the weekend,

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillè Soufflé Body Crème!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well!
After mentioning the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillè Soufflé Body Crème in my February favourites, I thought I would dedicate a whole post to it, as I love it that much!

So I did receive this as a birthday present which I was so thankful for as these body creams are expensive, so much so I wouldn't be able to justify buying myself one on a regular basis.
I really love the scents of the whole range of body care Laura Mercier do, however the ambre vanille is probably my favourite. I love how the vanilla scent is not overly sweet, and how it has a hint of sophistication and elegance. It is just gorgeous! I also find that the scent permeates clothing and the room you're in, which I personally love as I can't get enough it.
The packaging of the product feels so luxurious. It comes in a really nice box, and the product itself in a very weighty glass jar, so definitely not the best for travel.
Because the cream is whipped it feels light on the skin, yet provides really good moisturisation benefits. I love to use this after the shower, and after my skin feels very silky and smooth.

I cannot recommend this product enough. I think this or any of the Laura Mercier body care products would be amazing for a gift or if you really do want to treat yourself.
I would love to try out more of the range, and the other scents.

Let me know if you have tried this product or the other scents from Laura Mercier!

I really hope you enjoyed this review, please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you think!
Thank you so much for reading,

February Favourites!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week.
Once again another month has flown by, and amazingly we are already into March 2013!
I am super excited to share with you my February favourites as there were plenty of products I have been in love with this month!

Laura Mercier Body Souffle Cream in "Ambre Vanille"
I was incredibly lucky and excited to receive this for my birthday as I think the whole collection of body things from Laura Mercier are beautiful. The scent of the Ambre Vanille is divine as it is a really nice sophisticated vanilla scent, not at all too sweet or sickly as some vanilla scented things can be. It also does a great job at moisturising your skin, and the packaging feels so luxurious. I love it so much!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in "120 Vanilla"
So last week I purchased the new Revlon Nearly Naked foundation as so many youtubers and bloggers have been raving about it. I will do a full review on this very soon, as although I wasn't sure to begin with, it is slowly winning me round, and I have been enjoying wearing it for the last part of February.

Origins Super Spot Remover
I recently did a review on this product (HERE) and so will not go on for too long. But I have loved using this product and will definitely continue to do so. It has really helped my skin by clearing up breakouts, and I just find it to be really effective.

Korres Lip Butter in "Pomegranate"
I did a review on this in my last post (HERE), and I wanted to briefly mention it again as I have been really enjoying using it over the last couple of weeks. The lip butter moisturises my lips really well, whilst giving a tint of colour. It also lasts well and has a nice subtle fruity smell!

Mac Lipsticks in "A Perfect Day" and "Costa Chic"
I have also done two reviews on these (HERE & HERE), but I wanted to quickly say how much I have been loving wearing these lipsticks. I love A Perfect Day for days when I have a bright outfit on and what something nude to wear on my lips, or for lazy days when I'm not really wearing much make up. I then love to wear Costa Chic when I want to brighten up an outfit and make a statement. Both lipsticks are gorgeous and are really lovely to wear!

So that is is for my february favourites, let me know what your favourites are too!

I hope you enjoyed this months favourites, and please leave a comment down below as I love to read what you guys think!
Thank you, and I hope you have a great weekend,
