Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - "Crush"

Hi Everyone,
Happy Monday!
After seeing many good reviews about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains I was very curious indeed. I had also been wanting a darker lip colour for Autumn and Winter, and so after swatching the colour "Crush" in a Boots I knew I had to have it.

The packaging is quite nice, I like how the colour of the product is the colour of the packaging as it makes it super easy to pick it out of your make up drawer or bag etc. They are very much like the Clinique Chubby Sticks but as I have never tried of those I can't really compare the two.

The colour "005 Crush" is a dark plum/pink colour. You can really build this colour up or have it quite sheer, so it is perfect for those who don't want a super intense colour.

The Boots website describes this product as;

"Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood
Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturizing Balm
100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized with a soft stain of colour
Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required"
So they claim this product to be moisturising yet stain your lips, and I have to say I do mostly agree with this.
Please excuse the weird shine on my nose and cupids bow, must be the lighting!
I do use lip balm before I apply any lip products just because I prefer the feel of it on my lips. But as you can see, although the picture has slightly washed out the colour, the product has given a nice pop of colour to my lips, and is nice and moisturising.
When you first apply the product, it does have a minty smell which I am not keen on. However, once the product is one your lips you can't detect it.

I did re-apply the product several times throughout the day, just to add some moistness seeing as the weather is so cold now. I did find though that because it stains your lips, the colour actually intensifies throughout the day the more you re-apply it. I also found it did get quite patchy in some areas. In the centre of my lips there were some quite dark patches compared to other parts where it was lighter, which was pretty annoying. But I guess it is just a matter of getting used to it and getting used to the best way of applying it.

I paid £7.99 which I think is ok as I can see the product lasting quite a while.
Overall I am pleased with the balm stain. I think the colour is very pretty when applied, although I am going to have to get to grips with the best way of using it. I found it to be moisturising like what they claim which I love for Winter.
I do want to try the colour 'Honey" as it looks like a more daytime colour, and overall I would recommend these as a product.

I hope you enjoyed this review, please leave a comment down below as I love hearing what you guys think.
Thank you for reading and I will see your soon,

Topshop and Mini Beauty Haul!

Hi Everyone,
If you saw my Topshop wishlist, you will know that I have been obsessing over Topshop lately, and so I have made some guilty purchases over the last month or so.  Yesterday I also got a couple of beauty items which I thought I would throw in at the end.

First of all are these studded flats which I got a week or so ago. I fell in love with these and am super excited about them. I think they will look really nice with simple black leggings.
Next up is this burgundy snood (which are officially the hardest things to photograph). I got this whilst in London and have been wearing it non-stop ever since. Because I am wearing it whilst writing this, I can easily confirm it is super warm and snuggly!
Lastly from Topshop is this basic tee. It is white with grey speckles and over-sized. I like wearing this on its own with leggings, or recently I wore it under my coral blazer and it actually went quite well.
Onto beauty items. First up is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains is 'Crush'. My mum actually only picked this up yesterday for me so I haven't had a proper chance to wear it, so I am really excited to trying it out soon.
Lastly is again a product my mum picked up for me yesterday, it is the new Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Flawless foundation. I only tried this today so I can't give you a full opinion yet, but so far so good.

That is it for my Topshop and mini beauty haul. I really hope you enjoyed this post and please leave a comment down below as I love to hear what you guys think.

Thank you for reading,

Benefit Cha Cha Tint Review!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well.
Today I am going to do a review on the Benefit Cha Cha Tint that was free in October's InStyle. This is only a sample size, but it is actually really convenient as you get to try out the product first.

The packaging I think is quite sweet. The applicator is like a nail varnish applicator so you can get quite a precise line.

The Benefit website describes this product as;

"This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical sunset hue. Smooch-proof & smudge-proof, this sheer stain will have you looking deliciously sun-kissed for hours."

Swatched on your hand, the product actually looks sheer and a very pretty coral colour. However, once on your lips I find it to be a bright orange/red colour, which was actually quite disappointing as I was hoping for it to be quite a sheer flush of coral to my lips.
To get an even coat, you do have to put on a couple of coats which does build the intensity.   I did try and use this on my cheeks, but I found the product really hard to blend so I was left with a blob of colour on my cheeks which really wasn't a good look.
However, when on my lips I found that it stayed on throughout the whole day like they claim.
But because I find it drying throughout the day, I do touch up just to add a bit of moistness to my lips.

On the whole I am on the fence about this product. I think the lasting power is amazing and if you like a bright orange/red colour then this would be perfect. However for me I find it too drying for my lips, especially as we are into the colder months, and I find the colour a bit too  intense.
The product retails for £24.50 which I think is quite a lot but then again I think the bottle would last a long time.

Let me know what you think down below, and I also hope you enjoyed this post.
Thank you for reading, and please follow if you want to as it would really brighten up this cold and wet Monday,

A Topshop Wishlist!

Hi Everyone,
Recently I have been obsessing over Topshop. I don't know why. I have just found that over this year they have really hit the spot and brought out some amazing pieces. I have quite a long wishlist (yes this is just part of it), and so thought I would share it with you.

I love the bag with the studding as I think it would so versatile and go with anything. The coat looks very classy and sophisticated and I think it would be great for a formal dinner or event in the Winter months. I have been wanting Chelsea boots for the longest time and I think these ones look amazing! I really like the colour of the jumper and the crystal neckline. I think it would look lovely with leggings and the Chelsea boots. I know that so many people have the Biker jacket, but it is so nice. Leather jackets don't tend to suit me as I am 5"10, but I think the tall version may be the answer.

Please let me know what you have been loving recently, or if like me you have been loving Topshop too!
I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading,
I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer VS Mac Pro Longwear Concealer!

Hi Everyone,
Today I wanted to do a VS post to compare two concealers which both claim to be high coverage and long-wearing. They are the Mac Pro Longwear which has been a holy grail concealer since I bought it (January), and the Collection Lasting Perfection which I have had mixed feelings about in the past.
I had been using my Mac concealer everyday until I bought the Bobbi Brown corrector. Once I got that, I began using the Collection concealer instead. So after using both for a reasonable amount of time, I thought I would compare them properly to see which one is the best.
Top: Mac Concealer in NC15. Bottom: Collection Concealer in 1 Fair.
I use both of these concealers under the eye. The Mac concealer is quite yellow toned and is a good colour for under my eyes. The Collection concealer is actually a really good colour because being fair I find that usually many concealers are too dark to use under the eye, this colour on the other hand is almost to light for me, which is why I use it on top of my too dark Bobbi Brown corrector.

The Mac concealer comes in a pump bottle which is very uncontrollable, which is annoying as a little goes a long way with this concealer. However, I do find it very blend-able once on the skin.
The Collection concealer comes in a doe foot applicator which is much easier to use. I do find though the packaging to be quite messy as when you put the brush back in, sometimes concealer can squirts out and so you get concealer all over your hands. Also, I find the concealer to be not as blend-able.
Left eye: Mac Concealer. Right eye: Collection Concealer
I use my ring finger to apply each concealer and as you can see they have both done a pretty good job.
The Mac concealer (left eye) has cancelled out quite a lot of the purple undertone and really helped brighten my eye. it was easy to blend in and looks quite natural. I also find that the Mac concealer NEVER creases.
The Collection concealer (right eye) has also helped to brighten the under eye area. Having a pink undertone has also helped to cancel out the purple undertone. However, I do find this concealer harder to blend in.
Both feel lightweight on the skin and have matte finishes.

They both wear very well throughout the day. Mac claim the concealer to last 15 hours. I don't know this for sure because I have never worn it for 15 hours. I do know though that it will last a good 12 hours and still look pretty much the same as when I had left it.
Collection claim their concealer lasts for up to 16 hours. Again I have never worn it for that long but I know that it does last a full day.

On the whole I do highly recommend both concealers. However, I think that if you're looking for an all-round concealer, opt for the Mac as it covers redness, blemishes and dark circles well. Whereas the Collection concealer I think is more suited for redness and blemishes simply because of the blend-ability. The Mac retails for £14.50 for 9ml which is quite pricey, but then again you only need a small amount, and the Collection concealer is £4.19 - saving you over £10 making it a brilliant budget concealer.

That is it for my VS and sort of review post. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know if you have tried these concealers and what you think of them.
Thank you for reading and I will speak to you soon,

Claire xx

Benefit Badgal Lash Mascara Review!

Hi Everyone,
Several weeks ago in October's issue of InStyle, there was a page you could take to your nearest Benefit counter to receive a free mini Badgal lash mascara. I thought it was a pretty good deal as I had always been intrigued in this mascara, and after testing it quite a bit throughout October, I thought I would do a review for you.

I personally quite like the packaging, I think it is the contrast of the pink and black.
The brush is quite big which makes it messy when I apply it to my bottom lashes, and because it is only a sample size the wand is pretty short which also makes it hard to apply. The formula is quite dry and so it takes a bit of time to build it up.
My lashes are fair, sparse and short, but with a couple coats of the mascara, you can see it has added great length to them. I love how the mascara is not clumpy, but you do have to be careful as it can make your lashes look quite 'spidery'.
I personally like the colour it gives my lashes as they're not too dramatic, but for some people who like their lashes jet black, I think they would find the pigmentation to be bad. The Benefit website also says that is mascara with make your lashes 'full and voluminous', which I actually disagree with.
It can be quite flaky throughout the day but for the most part, it survives pretty well.

Over all I do like this mascara. I like the length it added to my lashes and that it flares them out well.
However, I am disappointed in the fact it doesn't make them that full or volumised. I don't think it is worth the £16.50 (or the $19 if you're in America), because I know of better mascaras that are way cheaper and do a very similar job.
I think it is a great mascara for the day time, to lengthen your lashes and make your eyes appear bigger and brighter. But if you prefer quite dramatic lashes then I don't think this is the mascara for you.

I hope you found this review helpful. Please leave a comment below if you have tried this mascara, or what other mascaras you recommend me trying.
Thank you for reading and I hope you have had a great weekend.

Smashbox Photo finish Primer Review!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday!
Today I wanted to do a review on the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. I don't usually wear primer, but when I saw a travel set containing a 30ml and 15ml size of the product on the plane to Spain during the summer, I thought it was worth trying.
My mum actually had the 30ml size as she did pay, but I was very pleased be able to try out the product after hearing really good reviews. So after using it recently for several weeks, I thought it was time to do a review.

The Smashbox website describes this product as;

"Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation to increase longevity, our best-selling primer helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish. Oil-free! "
It comes out as a gel formula, and is actually quite thick and sticky. But once you blend it into the skin it feels weightless and completely smoothes the skin.
It claims to be 'silky and lightweight', which I definitely agree with.
I am not sure about the claim to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores quite so much, but it does feel that way because of how smooth your skin feels after.

I have been using this under my YSL foundation around my nose and forehead as that is where I get oily throughout the day. Unfortunately It doesn't stop me getting oily, but I do think it helps the make up stay in place for longer around those areas. I do though think the 'light' version of this primer may help more with oiliness.

On the whole, I am really enjoying using the primer. It makes my skin really soft and smooth, and so I find application of foundation to also be softer and smooth.
I do wish it helped with the oiliness, but as it isn't really targeted at oily skin I can't complain too much.

Please let me know if you have tried this product or the other versions of it, and also what you think of it.

I hope you enjoyed this review and thank you for reading,

Falling Into Winter #1 - Coats

Hi Everyone!
For me, buying a coat is a real investment piece when it comes to Winter. A good coat can last you several years. I think it's good to make sure it is a classic so it will never date and that it goes with everything - even the New Year's eve party dress!

I wanted to share with you ideas of different coats/jackets that I think would be really nice for Winter.

Black goes with everything and looks very sophisticated and classy. A black coat will never look 'dated'.
L to R: Navy Bound Seam Duffle Coat, Cappotto Coat,Parka.
Again, a navy coat will go with pretty much anything. I think they look like a 'classic',  and you can never really go wrong with navy.

I love nude coats as they are super easy to style and I think they look very sophisticated. They also are really easy to wear.

I hope this post has given you some ideas if you are looking for a new winter coat. I decided just to do the more classic colours, but if you like I could do more edgy/trendy looks.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, and thank you as always for reading.

October Favourites!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all well. I can't believe we are already into November! October definitely flew by. But now we are into November, we can officially begin to get excited for Christmas :)

So I wanted to do my October favourites as there have been quite a few products that I have been loving this month.

Victoria's Secret Angel Body Mist
So when I was in London earlier in the month, my mum and I decided to have a look at the recently new Victoria's Secret. It was so busy so it was hard to have a proper look round, but in the end I got the Angel Body Mist. It is a beautiful scent; quite floral and girly but at the same time quite sophisticated. I also love the packaging.

Benefit's Badgal Lash Mascara
In October's InStyle, there was a page which you could rip out and take to your nearest Benefit counter to receive a free mini Badgal Lash mascara. I thought it was a really good deal and have been very pleased with the mascara. It is quite dry so it does take time to build up length and volume but on the whole it is a pretty good mascara. I will be doing a review soon though so stay tuned for that.

No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser for Normal/Oily skin types
So I have been using this product for just over a month now and have been really enjoying using it. Although it doesn't clear up by breakouts amazingly, it still makes my skin feel nice and clean after. I also love the smell.

NARS Blush in Deep Throat
I have had this blush for several months now and just love it! I feel though I have been gravitating towards it more than usual just because it is such an easy colour to apply and wear, and in general the NARS blushes are such great quality.

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation
I have finally got the right shade in this foundation, after having 3 samples. I got the shade B10 after feeling that BR10 was too pink. I have been wearing it throughout October and have been loving it. It is the perfect amount of coverage, it is super easy to blend and the finish is beautiful. I am definitely going to be buying the full size product.

Essie's Bahama Mama
Lastly is of course Essie's Bahama Mama. I wore this in October and just loved the colour. The formula is great and for Autumn, the colour is perfect.

So that is it for my October favourites. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful.
Please tell me what your October favourites are!
Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a fabulous October.
